DUSSELDORF, GERMANY, Thursday, June 09, 2016
Kodak today celebrated its biggest KODAK PROSPER Technology deal in the Southern Hemisphere with South African Print Service Provider (PSP), Novus Holdings, formerly known as Paarl Media Group. The equipment includes a KODAK PROSPER 6000C Press with ManRoland web systems FoldLine installed at Novus Holdings’ digital plant, Novus Print Solutions, and seven KODAK PROSPER S20 S-Series Imprinting Systems for its litho devices, which have been installed at its other printing facilities across South Africa.
The Novus Holdings Group produces short, medium and long-run jobs for customers in South Africa and across the rest of the African continent. Output includes magazines, retail inserts, catalogs, books, newspapers, commercial work, labels, educational materials, as well as digital printing and tissue product manufacturing.
David Clayton, General Manager of Novus Print Solutions, said: “Market trends are showing an increase in demand for shorter runs, personalized content and quicker turnarounds. By staying ahead of our competitors with the latest technology, Novus Print Solutions is now perfectly positioned to offer advanced print production and data design solutions while remaining focused on its core offerings within the magazine, book and commercial spheres.”
Clayton continues: “We are continually reviewing the latest print technology and products to ensure we offer highly efficient production processes delivering speed and quality. Kodak’s Stream Inkjet technology has proven the best option for our business in order to deliver excellent ink coverage and drying at speeds of 300 meters per minute.”
Novus Holdings has already signed exclusive deals with major international and local publishers with production scheduled to start immediately.
Christoff Botha, Novus Holdings Group Executive, Heatset & Labels, commented: “As we continue to invest in world-class technologies, we are able to provide a wider scope of products that cater for the expanding needs of publishers at cost effective prices relative to the global market. We are excited to bring change to the African print landscape with our continued support of book production and in ensuring greater access to quality print titles.”
Phil Walsh, Kodak’s Inkjet Sales Director for UAE and Africa, concluded: “We’re very proud that such a prestigious printer has chosen Kodak technology to pioneer its next phase of growth. Novus Holdings is one of Africa’s largest and most respected print and manufacturing companies and we are delighted that our KODAK STREAM inkjet technology has raised the performance bar for a wide range of publishing products in the region.”
