No crossed wires

Date: 15 January 2010

Conflandey has, for many years, worked very closely with Muller Martini in Switzerland, doing research and development in order to produce the best possible stitching wire solutions. Conflandey electro-galvanised stitching wire is manufactured to the highest standards and all wire undergoes stringent quality checks before leaving the factory in France. Due to the electro-galvanizing process, you will not see the trademark flaking that is the case with some of the hot dipped galvanized wires supplied into the trade.

Conflandey guarantees that stitching wire will not deviate or fluctuate by more than 0.05% in the diameter thereby saving your stitching heads from undue wear. As a result, we have seen a marked drop in the requirement of stitching head replacement parts at clients who have been using the Conflandey wire on their machines. There is no doubt that as a short-term solution, print shops and finishing houses can use lower quality stitching wire but, in the long run, the costs of replacing or fixing stitching heads far out weigh the savings of using cheaper wire. Coupled with this is the fact that the Conflandey wire we supply is made from very high tensile strength steel, giving the opportunity to use a thinner gauge of wire, thereby dramatically increasing your yield per spool and ultimately reducing the cost per copy for stitched books.
